Both Lights by AU

Your eyes, your eyes, bolded inspire, sable desire.. Your smile, your smile, lay down beside, open our lives…

Such a wonderful album, light horn melodies and a bigness flaring up in waves. Luke’s lyrics tend toward the ambiguously suggestive, yet broad and beautiful, a solemn melancholy and a warm hopefulness runs through the album and showers the listener in a moody beauty that keeps paying out until the final track.

If I could, I would drown myself in these tones again and again, since it tells such a gorgeous story, but with an ambiguous end.. Old Friend marks a turn of the album, whose concepts show scenic romance, time passing, grandiose freeness and wistfulness. Meanehile, the lovely bouncing energy of the first side slows down and reveals a longing that can’t auite be satiated.. I love the way the album balances these two sides, the tone of Get Alive is probably the cornerstone of the album, “step into this light with me” and it beckons a longing to come forth from the listener.

I’ve been alive so long, you’ve been dead all these years, love is what we wait for, I bid you well
